Understanding And Achieving Happiness

The one thing everyone in the world has in common is the desire to be happy. Whether you're rich or poor, happiness is the ultimate goal. The problem is most have the misconception that happiness is an emotion, one which can be achieved by external forces. As a result, most people find themselves in one of three types of situations:

Situation 1 – Finding Happiness In Objects

Happiness is based upon a thing or object in this case. Food, clothes, cars or pretty much any external object. While the object may make you happy for a short while, the results are temporary. You are left always looking for something new to make you happy.

Situation 2 – Happiness of Comparative Advantage

This is the classic scenario of achieving happiness by comparing yourself to others. When you have a newer car or more money than someone else, you think you're better, equaling happiness. Measuring yourself against others creates one of the most unstable types of happiness and can often lead to a sense of worthlessness should someone else outdo you.

Situation 3 – Happiness From Seeing Good And Doing Good

This form of happiness comes from always trying to see the good in others and doing good for others. It is very much based around excusing others' faults and constantly trying to be someone's everything. While most people would love a world structured around the pursuit of happiness, the result is a very limited happiness as it always depends upon someone else. If you fail someone or they fail you, the happiness is gone.

Is Happiness Something More?

Sadly, some people live their whole lives only experiencing one or more of the previously described scenarios. Happiness is not something which can be described or achieved by a set action or thought. When you let go of the stigma that you must achieve happiness in a set way, you are able to begin to understand the concept of happiness through love, life and community. You are able to approach situations differently. While you achieve happiness through a series of thoughts, emotions and even actions, it is still impossible to fully explain the abstract concept of true happiness.

See Yourself In Relation To Life

Happiness is a gift people receive when they see themselves as they really are in relation to life. Everyone's life has a different meaning and purpose. As such, each person should all feel comfort in knowing that every person has a meaning and purpose. By accepting one's own value and being happy with who you are, your heart and mind achieve a perfect union.

Happiness is triggered through life experiences. Through the help of great teachers, you are able to interpret and hold on to these rare moments. Everyone has the ability to conquer fear, learn from within and reflect upon their inner most thoughts. When you are ready to see yourself, you open your mind and heart to truth and divine knowledge.

A social network where you can share, express yourself and be accepted as you are is one of many places you can begin to experience life as yourself and trigger happiness. Places such as Fufflist allow you to meet others, share funny videos, blog and simply connect with new friends.
